Hygiene Tips for Toddlers

  1. For older children (toddlers to three years old), teach them the value of hand washing. They have to be taught to wash hands before a meal, whether it is a simple snack or juice break.
  2. Always point out the dirty objects and tell them to stay away from them. For example, they have to told to stay away from trash cans or not to play with its contents.
  3. Teach your toddler to keep his things away from dirty areas. Although it is inevitable for him to bring his toys outside the house, always tell him that keeping his toys on the clean floor and away from the dirty playground is better for him.
  4. Teach your child to keep his footwear on at all times and not to step on dirty surfaces. Aside from you not wanting to clean up any additional mess, it is important that children learn to keep their feet clean too. Walking barefoot on soil also exposes them to the risk of getting infected by worms.
